Ask Chaz : Dog to Dog

ASK CHAZ is a special column where dogs can submit questions that are answered by 4PK’s resident dog, Chaz.

Chaz, my humans just booked a trip to 4 Paws Kingdom. What do dogs do there? Thanks. –Fido

Fido,

Your humans are smart. You’ll like 4PK. There’s lots for dogs to do, no matter your age, size, or interests.

There are a few big fenced areas here where you can go off-leash, chase balls and frisbees, and meet other dogs. There’s one area just for small dogs. There’s even one for dogs who like to be alone. Depending on where you’re staying on the property, you may even have your own little fenced yard where you can be off-leash, too.

Some dogs (and most humans) enjoy the agility park. It has poles, jumps, a teeter totter, and more. Your humans can even book a private trainer to teach you tricks. (She can also help with other problems, like if you bark a lot or don’t like other dogs.) So if you want to get smarter, tell them to contact Beverly through the 4PK office.

If you like to run, there’s a track where dogs chase a rag that magically turns into a rabbit when it starts moving. I don’t really understand it, but Greyhounds and Huskies love that thing. My human said, “Lure course sessions are free. They happen on Saturdays, as long as the weather is good.” Your human can check for times at the 4PK Store if you want to try that.

The pond is a big attraction. Humans like to toss balls into the water and watch their Retrievers jump in after them. The pond has a few fish in it, which Shepherds seem to like. (They spit them out because Yuck.) Humans aren’t allowed to fish in the pond, so you won’t have to worry about a hook in your paw. If your humans are like mine, they like it better when you smell like a human. So 4PK has a dog bath area where you can clean up after a swim.

Me, I’m pretty chill (it’s a thyroid thing). I like walks, mostly short ones, not the full mile around the property. When I’m feeling frisky, I take my human on one of our hiking trails, where we always see squirrels. I also like naps. There are really good places to nap here, in the sun and in the shade. If you stay in one of our rental units, you’ll have your own fenced-in deck area where you can dog-watch.

Make sure to stop by the 4PK Camp Store. There’s always a water bowl out front, so it’s a good rest stop when you’re on walkabout. The store also stocks yummy dog treats, ice, firewood and fire bricks, 4PK merch, and more.

I think 4 Paws Kingdom is a great place for dogs to get away with their humans. Whatever you like to do, you’ll like doing it here even more. And you’ll definitely want to come back. So will your humans.

Make sure to find me when you arrive. I look forward to sniffing you.

Keep wagging,

Chaz
