We absolutely enjoyed our
weekend at Four Paws Kingdom. You couldn't ask for more
hospitable people than Meik and Birgit...they really made us
feel welcome. And our two Boston Terriers, Bosco &
Baxter really loved the freedom they experienced in the puppy
park areas. It was so nice being in a campground where
you know your dogs are welcome and all the other campers are
there for the same reason...they love their animals! We
will recommend the campground to all our camping friends and
we will definitely return!

Hello Again!
We miss you all already! We had a wonderful time...Mom
and Dad did too! It would have been alright to have
skipped the baths, but other than that, we have NO complaints.
Mom has already called Jake's mom and dad to tell them how
much fun we had! We are hoping to see you again really soon,
but if we can't talk Mom and Dad into coming sooner, we will
see you all on the weekend of July 4th!
Have a great day and keep up the good work! Much love to you
all!
Keeper
PS. I did not mind the bath nearly as
much as Ben, but he wanted me to add that. Mom and Dad
loved the convience of the doggie bath!
Ben and Keeper are owned by Jim and Cathy Wolford, May 2004
We have NO complaints, only the highest
praise for our experience of spending the first weekend of
operation with you. I have told lots of people about it
and have shared many of the pictures that we made.
Thanks for the wonderful idea and know that we can't wait to
get back up there!

Hi Meik and Birgit,
We spent a week at the campground with our two children and
three dogs. The facilities were wonderful and it made
traveling with our canine companions simple and fun. The
children enjoyed the playground, pond, and especially the
agility field. The concept of the bathrooms is a
terrific idea, especially for families with children.
Thanks for making our vacation so much fun!
Thank you so much for your hospitality this past week,
David and Agatha Graham, June 2004 |

Thank you so much...
I hope it won't be too long until we can come see you again.
We had such a great time. All of your friends are really
neat & how great to have a mom that makes you
cookies/treats. My mom said that yours was going to send
her a recipe so she could make us some too with that neat
cookie cutter Puddin' won.
Tell Linus that Puddin' misses him especially. (I think
she has a crush on him.)
Hope
to see you soon.

Thanks too for a truly
wonderful weekend. I had such a great time and it was
made even more special by the warm and friendly welcome I
received from all
of you. In just moments, I felt like I was part of the family
and that
really means a lot to me. I feel very privileged to have been
part of the
grand opening weekend and to finally meet you all in person. I
miss you guys
already too and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
I will be
spreading the word far and wide about what a wonderful retreat
you've built.
I only hope that once word gets out that you'll have room for
Morgan and
Forrest and I :-)
With warmest wishes and corgi kisses,

Since we left rather
early yesterday morning, we did not take time to say good-bye
to you or to thank you for your help in our finding Green
River Plantation.
We also wanted you to know that even without dogs of our own,
we very much enjoyed our stay in your RV park. It is
very obvious that you have spent a great deal of time and
effort in designing and building the campground, paying
attention to details such as lining the sites with logs, and
making the sites level and clean. It is beautiful.
And on leaving, we even took a photo of the charming sign you
painted, Birgit. We love that little Corgi in the camp
chair, vacationing with his family.
We know you are just starting out on this venture; and we wish
you good luck and a full campground.
Very sincerely,
Karol and Jack Biggar, June 2004 |
Good afternoon. I hope
you are doing well when you received this e-mail. We
got home at 1:30 safe and well. We are a little bit sad when
we left because we did not want to
leave but we know we will be back again, we had a wonderful
time. Thanks for everything. Kisses and hugs for Linus &
Schroeder ( I hope I spell the names right). Thanks
again,

Hi guys! We just wanted
to email and let you know how much we enjoyed our visit to
Four Paws Kingdom in May. It was our first tent camping
trip and we really loved it. Our favorite activity was
swimming in the Doggy Pond
We really like to fetch sticks and balls that Mom and Dad
throw in the water. Dixie liked the agility ring too and wants
Dad to do that with her more. A friend of his at work
has some plans for some of the jumps so were excited about
that. She doesn't know if she'll be as good as Schroeder and
get ribbons, but it will still be a lot of fun.
Mom and Dad had fun too except they didn't do too much - just
sat around, read books and listened to the quiet. It was
a bit warm those few days but they went swimming in the Doggie
Pond with us to cool off -- cool huh!
The best news is that we get to come back this fall!!!
We are real excited about visiting again. Mom says she
apologizes for the delay in writing but our email has been
down. Anyway, we wanted to share some pictures from our
visit so they're attached. Hope you like them.
All of us hope business is steady and growing. We'll let
you know when we plan to come visit this fall so you can save
us a special tent spot.
Take care and we'll see you soon!
Love,
Summer and Dixie
PS: More pictures in next email. Mom and Dad say hello
too! (aka Lisa and
Andy), May 2004 |

We had such a great time
and will certainly be back. As usual we got
home and had to hit the ground running. Business calls,
elderly parents,
gardening (we're picking cucumbers, squash and tomatoes!) and
of course the
dreaded laundry after a trip. I'm sending pictures.
Probably will have to send you a
dozen emails to get them all through so look out :)
Stay well. Let's do stay in touch. We just love
you guys.

Hi guys,
Thanks again for a fun time. We enjoyed ourselves so much at
your campground. It has taken Storm 2 days to recover from
chasing the border collies, but she had a "greyt"
time!!!
Dexter enjoyed the challenge of Ben the golden retriever and
thought that was fun.
I have not received the email you said you were sending about
the chili cookoff. Just wanted to check
and see what address you used. We look forward to coming again
soon....hopefully August and again in Oct for sure when the
leaves are starting to turn and the humidity is gone.
Take care, we will continue to spread the word about
your campground.
Totty, Dan and the gang, July 2004 |
Steve and I (and Dexter
and Bailey) wanted to thank you so much for your hospitality
and everything you did to ensure our stay at your campground
was pleasurable. It most certainly was!!! Bailey
particularly enjoyed swimming in the pond, and Dexter -
despite his phobias, enjoyed being able to spend quality
time with all of us. Although our vacation was cut
short because of a family emergency, our time at 4 Paws was
truly relaxing and we look forward to returning (hopefully
over the Labor Day weekend if things work out here).
It will be great to see how the campground evolves over
time. It is obvious how much you love what you're
doing and your hard work will surely pay off!
Brigit:
Thank you so much for the silk painting instruction! I
know I will wear my new scarf often, and the Squirrel
art will always remind me of you and our
conversations during our "art time".
Thank you both again
for all the kindness you showed during our tragic news.
It helped us more than you could possibly know.
Fondly, Steve, Lori, Dexter and Bailey

Hello Mike and Birgit,
We had a wonderful time at 4 Paws Kingdom this weekend! Zoe
and Merlin had a blast too. They
are so tired now. I have been telling my friends and
co-workers what a wonderful place it is.
I think you and Birgit are running a superb business. Dan and
I were also
very impressed by your hospitality and your attentiveness.
Thank you very much,

In Praise of Four Paws
Kingdom
We were first time visitors to Four Paws-one large fifth-wheel
with two adults and two furry kids.
In the past, we have stayed in campgrounds with manicured
landscaping and human amenities beyond belief. Yet, no
matter how fancy the campground, it seems our dogs always got
the short end of the stick.
We travel by RV so we can take our dogs with us, but we feel
that they have never enjoyed the experience as much as we
have. At home they can run and play, but in campgrounds
they've been leashed, confined, and-at most-allowed to run
free only in a "dog run" of dead grass, dirt, and
piles of dog poop. At Four Paws they were able to run free,
sniff the "good smells", play with other dogs, swim
in a pond or stream, try their hand at agility, and all in
large, clean, safe, fenced-in areas.
Four Paws gave us our first chance to really enjoy camping
with our dogs-knowing they were really welcome there. The
facilities not only made it easier for us to tend to the dogs,
but they gave us opportunities to work and play with them that
we'd never tried before. Case in point: the agility
course. We thought we'd see how the dogs did on it, "just
for giggles". We had no idea Duke would take to agility
as he did. Now we're looking at new possibilities for Duke, a
dog that never cared for the usual dog toys and games.
We left Four Paws with fond memories of many people and many
dogs, all enjoying each other's company and having a great
time together.
So thank you for Four Paws, and for your kindness and
consideration for our animals. You've done a wonderful
thing for all dog lovers and we will certainly be back the
next chance we get.

Three years ago I took a
cruise and named it the best vacation of my life. That
was before I'd brought my dogs to " Four Paws
Kingdom" and shared with them memories that will last a
lifetime. I came with a for 2-day reservation, tripled
my stay, and never wanted to leave. Swimming with my
dogs bettered swimming with dolphins, meeting like-minded dog
lovers was far preferable to mingling with strangers on ship.
You can bet Dite, Annie, Louie B. and I will be back time and
time again.

Dear Meik and Birgit,
We had a lovely stay at your beautiful campground and
want you to know how much we appreciated your kind
hospitality. It made our very first camping experience a
most pleasurable one. I wish we could have stayed
another night. Actually, I wish we had. We stopped
at a sight on the way home that was kind of just an open
field. Not very nice… and so many NO PET signs!
Barney didn’t like it.
We’ll be happy to do
whatever we can to help promote your campground. I’ll
put a link on my website to yours this week. Hopefully,
you’ll be able to join us on the cruise and then you can
tell people about your campground yourself. And we’d
love to have you on-board.
Barney sends his regards to Schroeder and Linus and
looks forward to seeing them again soon. Barney wants to
come back and next time, he may have a baby brother with him!
Thanks again for everything!
Love,
Katie & Randy & Barney Markley,

Lexxy and I wanted to say how nice it was to meet you and
Linus, and how much fun we had visiting Four Paws Kingdom!!
It was great, especially for City-Dogs like us!! My
favorite thing was the Doggie Pond! My humans were
amazed at how well I can swim!! Duh!! I am a Jack
Russell Terrier, I can do anything!!! I think playing
chase with everyone was Lexxy's favorite thing about our
trip!!
We would also like to thank your humans for talking our Mom
and Dad into upgrading to the Deluxe Cabin, now they cannot
wait to bring us back to visit again!!
Mom has been telling EVERYONE with Furr-Kids about your
glorious retreat, so, it looks like many of our city-friends
will be coming to see you, too!!
Can't wait to see you again!!
Your Friends,
Nevil & Lexxy Phelan, August 2004

Hey Schroeder and Linus, We miss you guys alot. It
took us 3 days to get our energy back after seeing you all.
We had so much fun!!!
We thought the swimming, playing and hiking were great.
It is a special place you have and we are so grateful that
there is such a great place for us to bring our humans. We

for a long time and look forward to coming back next
summer for sure and maybe sooner.
We wish you the best of luck with the campground and

The "girls" ,
Nikki, Magic, Shelby and Cabbie, had an absolutely fantastic
time. Cabbie is wondering where her pond is!!! Us
humans enjoyed your wonderful hospitality, your pleasing
personalities, and especially Brigit's special cheese cake!
I've already spread the word to the Beauceron community and
I'm sure you'll have inquires in the near future! We'll
be back for Oktoberfest and definitely for Doggie Summer Camp
in 2005! Thanks!

Earlier in the year I was
looking for a campground that catered to people and their
dogs; what great luck that four paws kingdom is only a few
hours away! Meik and Birgit are the best camp hosts ever; the
facilities are top notch and the setting is beautiful. I tell
everyone I meet about four paws and the wonderful experience I
had there. Otis, my fur kid, absolutely loved it and we will
definitely return as much as possible!

Just wanted you to know
what a marvelous time we had at your great camp ground.
We are grateful that we could spend a few hours watching our
dogs have such a wonderful time. My poodle who is 1 ½
years played so hard that she tore the pads off of three
feet. She’ll be back to normal in a few days.
Your doggy bathroom is GREAT!!!! I hope that I
mopped it good enough. After six dogs there was a lot
of mud for one little mop. If there is any way to put
in a hook to “tie” dogs into the tub it would be most
helpful, especially in the tub off of the ground.
Again, thank you and we will spread the word about your
super camp grounds.

Hi guys--- and gal. Had
been meaning to write to tell you what a great time we had
when there in July, but now realizing you were in the track of
the successive hurricanes its prompted me to remember.
Glad everything is alright there and you haven't washed
away. It will be good to know that the path down to the
pavilion and play park are paved so we don't risk being
dragged to the 'fun' by Muffin and Molly.
Have a good and healthy winter where ever you find
yourself. We'll see you
in 2005. Molly's been missing the daily swimming in the pond.
Our little
pool isn't good enough for her any more.
PS- Will be writing to Mr. Reed about a great place I
found !
All our best, Stan & Donna September 2004

Recently on a trip back
from
Florida
to Pa, we decided to travel 150 miles out of our way to visit
with you – what a great decision. Just wanted to let you
know how much we (Beverly, John, Dee Dee (Shih Tzu) & Toni
(Boston Terrier) Dowdey) enjoyed our visit. We stayed a couple
of nights – wish it had been more. We will revisit as soon
as we can. You were great as hosts and your concept, vision
and current facilities are marvelous. You wanted a picture of
my dogs using your bath house so have attached same. Until we
see you again, thanks for the memories

To you at Four Paws,
We had a wonderful stay and a fine trip home yesterday.
We arrived after 8 hours travel time. Sorry I left my
seven wooden blocks there but perhaps you can have them
available for someone else who will need them. We are
discussing our next trip to your site which sadly will have
to await next year but we look forward to another visit.
Again thanks and I will
be contacting Bridget to see about getting Sun Catcher
paintings of all seven of our present and past Dals.

Meik and Birgit. I just
want to thank you for providing us with the best camping
experience we have ever had. We've been camping for over 30
yrs. and never have had a more enjoyable time. The fact that
we could bring our extended family (Trooper, Dylan, Rocky and
River) and to see the enjoyment and fun they had will surely
bring us back next year for several stays. You have a
wonderful concept here and we will make sure that other dog
lover friends of ours will be be made aware of you wonderful
place.

I just wanted to thank
Birgit for the wonderful time we just spent the last week of
October! We had the most wonderful time with our dogs
Kayla and Ellie our 2 labs. Birgit was the most
wonderful host to us and our fur kids. Also met some
other wonderful neighbors with their "kids".
We will definitely come back and the cabin we stayed in was a
delight! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this
campground. Thanks again! Debbie, Roy, Kayla and Ellie
