What
our customers had to say about us...
four
paws
Dear Birgit and Meik,
Thank you so, so much for our visits to 4 Paws this year. We have many memories to keep us until next year: Sabbath's snake (How could I ever forget that?!), Marion driving us all the way to the emergency vet, and the sweet wonderful visits everyone made to our trailer to check up on us. I also can still taste the squash soup Meik made. I have to do a better job of scheduling our visits for the times he cooks! The agility bookcamp was spectacular. I don't know how we'll continue with my insane work schedule and our crowded days, but perhaps we'll figure it out. Still it was a wonderful weekend and a good time Sabbath and I spent together. I think, over all, it was good for Kathy, too. Someday she'll see the weekend was mostly good for them, too. 4 Paws is indeed my most favorite place in the world. It is a truly a blessed community. Very best wishes for the off season and I hope you both get a well-deserved rest.

I cannot say enough about Four Paws Kingdom Campground. I found it last year, quite by accident and came back three times, with my three rescue dogs. The place is a delight. The camping spaces are well integrated into the land. The cabins and permanent trailers are quite handy when you don't have time or occasion (or skill, in my case) to deal with toting the camper. The folks that frequent the campground are just my "speed," the activities, such as potluck, crafts and entertainment are well organized and genuine fun! (WARNING: Meik is a ham, although a talented one!) Birgette does a fantastic job of conducting the dog training, as well as the crafts events with her whimsical and relaxing artist talents.
The amenities for the dogs are tantamount to no other place I've been. Mine (Clara, Pearl and Pancake) especially love the fenced in pond. They can stay the whole day there, and you can even go there when not camping and pay a small fee when registering at the office just to spend the day - call first.
And then, there is the food. I went to Meik's Mediterranean boot camp this April and, frankly, have to say that it was the best hands-on cooking class that I've ever been to. He has a particularly good teaching style that is very flexible. He gives the history of the cuisine, and has a very flexible instruction style that incorporates hints, etc. At the end, he mailed a recipe book that was especially tailored to the class. MUCH better than the pre-printed book in other cooking coursed that end up not reflecting what your learned in class.
Also, if you have the chance, take advantage of Meik's prepared dinner's - they will not
disappoint!
If you like dogs, good company and relaxed camping - go to Four Paws! Just don't take the camper spot that I want..............

I Just got back home tonight, and I am already
looking to the spring to plan another week. This was the
most perfect vacation I have ever taken, and it was a very
short two nights. I don't know how to describe how great
it was to have a wonderful setting, very clean and comfortable
rental, and know that my German Shepherd was welcome. From
the moment I arrived I felt so welcome, and at home. I
was taken to my camper, shown around, and then left to enjoy
it all. I hate that I missed the dinner (I have to
confess I fell asleep after a brisk walk), but it is so quiet
and laid back that I didn't mind. My shepherd reacts to
all other dogs, at least she did last week, but we were right
beside three dogs in the campsite and she just yawned and
slept on. The entire time, she just looked towards the
others and turned away, no reaction at all.
I watched the agility boot camp and my thought was
"we can do that", so next year we might give it a
try. And it felt great to get her into the pond, and
creek, and try out the agility playground and rally field too.
Today, before we left, Nanuke remembered how to play! She
fell in love with the tunnel and tires, running from one end
of the field to the other to go through them over and over.
She would stop at the end of the tunnel, stick her head
out, and smile at me! I wish I had my camera, I would
cheer and she would take off again. Who knew a 10 year
old dog could have so much fun?
Thank you for a wonderful experience! Thank you for
allowing us to have a camping experience that few others could
appreciate.
I will be back, and I will tell others about your wonderful
campground too.

| Just
a quick note to tell you what a great time we had at your
park. We just loved it...and it is so quiet at
night...no truck or car noises! Karl is having some
cataract surgery in October and November, but we do plan to
come back when we are over all that. It was lots of fun,
and I think that other friends will want to come to visit
also. -Shirley and Karl Shalansky -

| We stayed at Four Paws in May. It was 1
of only 2 campgrounds we found on a 9,000 mile trip that we
could let our dogs run. Our dogs and humans love the
different dog parks and our fellow dog loving guests. Jim,

Thank you both for our wonderful stay at Four Paws Kingdom. It is the Disney Land for Dogs. We all had a blast.
Have a great fall,

We had such a wonderful time. We enjoyed our early morning walks around the park and spending time in the small dog park too. Being Jersey Newbees, we were a little nervous but everyone welcomed us like part of the 4 Paws family. It was really exciting to win the fashion show. The Corgiritaville party for the adults was the best. You really know how to par-tay! Hope to come back next year.

We had such a wonderful and relaxing time there last week and Lucy & Linus just love it there! Thank you so much for having a birthday party for our boy. We can’t tell you enough how much we love coming there and we are looking forward to coming again this year. Back to work today and it’s very hard.
Take care and hope to see you both again soon!

Thanks
Meik & Birgit for a great experience!
My
family had a wonderful week at Four Paws Kingdom. You made us
feel so welcomed and our dogs loved all the added attention
you gave them. Your location has so many trees that added to
the beauty and privacy in the campgrounds. Our rental RV was
clean and ready for us when we arrived. My husband and I
enjoyed the large deck that gave us much more living space
than we expected.
Only
dog lovers like yourselves could come up with so many special
dog features. Your campsite obviously has the comfort
and safety of our dogs in mind. The double gated
entrances on the dog parks meant I never had to fear that my
dogs could get out. The gate on our RVs deck was helpful
to keep our Corgis where they belonged. Water was always
available so the dogs could get a drink or get hosed off when
needed. The poop stations were well supplied with bags and
were conveniently located.
Meik,
my husband and I appreciated that you took extra effort and
expense in addressing our special dietary needs with
vegetarian and gluten free options at the delicious breakfast
you prepared. Thanks so much.
Thank
you both for making our visit a super memory for years to
come. Our Corgis loved meeting your Corgis, Lucy &
Belle. We hope to visit with you again at Four Paws
Kingdom. Lisa & Jim, Wynne & Will -

To
Birgitte and Meik:
My
wife Jennifer, our beloved dog TJ, and myself have been
camping with ya'll for a few years now. We LOVE coming down
from Asheville to spend time at Four Paws, and always look
forward to it. Four Paws Kingdom is our "home away
from home". We don't go anywhere else, we plan all
of our vacation time to camp here! TJ loves the
amenities, especially the pond and the off-leash areas where
he can run and play with all of his fur-friends. From
the owners to the volunteers, the service is TOP-NOTCH, and
can't be beat! The get-togethers are always
entertaining. Birgit, you have a beautiful voice - you
and Meik are both VERY talented, and always put on a great
show! The meals are simply scrumptious! Miek,
you're cooking is flat out awesome! My wife and myself
have recommended Four Paws Kingdom to all of our friends and
co-workers.... and will continue to do so. We will
definitely be back more this year, and several times each year
in the many years to come! Thank you for doing what you
do....
Sincerely,
Matt and Jennifer (and TJ) Hill-

Looking

Pardon
this e-mail being almost a month late; however Bentley and I
had a fantastic first time, I couldn't pass up on the
opportunity of enlightening others on our trip. From day one
of Bentley and I's first stay at FPK to the last day, I
could not stop thanking you guys for you're very warm
hospitality and the others welcoming us in as "FPK
rookies". Although the trip was suppose to be Bentley,
Eddie (Bentley's dad), and myself, it still turned out with
the only the two of us to be a never forgetting trip.
Saturday
was a fun-filled day consisting of a scrumptious breakfast
from the wonderful chef Meik, followed by Bentley's first
agility lesson taught by Birgit, birthday celebration for
Bentley who turned two as well as Trueman and Teddy who
turned three. Later that night we all enjoyed a potluck BBQ.
Definitely a weekend!
We
have already planned on returning at least two more times
this year, bringing others along with us so they can also
see what all the hoopla is about. Again Birgit and Meik,
thank you from the bottom of our water bowl for your
graciousness and creativeness for opening Four Paws Kingdom
to those who adore their furbabies just as much as I do! See
you guys soon
