By order of the

campsites. A special burn permit has to be obtained at the
campground office. (above ground BBQ grills, fireplaces and gas
fireplaces are OK on all sites). We also provide a custom build
fire and BBQ place for all to enjoy. Please do not collect any
wood, dead, down, or otherwise, from the bed or banks of the
creeks or other place on our property.
Important Announcement
July 16, 2008
Four Paws Kingdom has partnered with the NC Department of Agriculture to protect NC forests from the Emerald Ash Borer and other wood destroying pests.
Our forests are are threatened by nonnative insects that can kill large numbers of trees. Three recently introduced insects - emerald ash borer, Asian longhorned beetle, and Sirex woodwasp are wood infesting species that can be transported long distances in firewood. Once transported into new areas, these insects can become
established and kill local trees. We must STOP THE SPREAD of these insects and protect our forests and trees.
North Carolina has joined eight other states - Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin - that have announced voluntary or mandatory restrictions on imported campfire wood. A number of national parks and forests within those states have followed suit, according to the National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service.
In an effort to protect our surrounding forest environment from the Emerald Ash Borer and other wood destroying insects we have adopted the recommendations from the NC State Parks and the NC Campground association (NCARVC) and we will no longer permit any of our guests to bring their own firewood of any kind. The state of North Carolina recommends no moving of firewood in the State and no outside wood brought into any campgrounds.
We hope that you will support us in our effort to preserve our forests for future generations, be considerate and leave your firewood at home. We will have local firewood available for sale at the office
($5.00/bundle) and we'll gladly deliver it to your camp site.
Thank you for your support.

All vegetation, living and dead, is for shade, bank
stabilization, erosion control, natural decomposition and
natural habitat. With several thousand camper nights per year,
the environment simply cannot withstand guest collection of wood
for fires or for any other reason.
|
Can I watch TV and will my cell phone
be working?
 |
Yes, we do have
satellite TV hookup at every site providing you with the major
networks as well as an assortment of other popular stations
including CNN and Animal Planet. At this point VERIZON wireless is the only
carrier reliably working on our premises. |
Can I set-up a park model or
RV on a seasonal basis?
 |
We are sorry, but
"Four Paws Kingdom" can only be booked on a daily,
weekly or monthly basis. |
You are dog-friendly, does
that mean my dog can run free all the time?
 |
Although "Four Paws
Kingdom" is a place for people and pets alike, there are
certain rules we have to establish. For insurance reasons, all
dogs have to be on a leash when outside of the designated
"dog facilities" like "doggy playground",
"agility ring", "dog park" etc. Dogs will
also have to be indoors (in your camper) overnight and while the
owners are gone (shopping, sight-seeing etc.) |
Do I have to bring a dog
to stay with you?
Four Paws Kingdom was
designed as a full service campground with plenty of dog
amenities to make it a safe and enjoyable place for people with
and without dogs. It helps however to like dogs because 90% of
our campers bring their pets and our activities and service
offerings are geared to this target group.
What
excitements do you offer for my two legged kids?
 |
Four Paws Kingdom caters
exclusively to adults and their canine companions.
As a courtesy, we welcome young adults, 14 years or older
(when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian)
as well as infants and toddlers up to 2 years of age. |
We are not a traditional
“family campground” and we are not catering to families
and/or campers with kids. We are very upfront about that. Four
Paws Kingdom was designed as a safe and enjoyable place for all
people who want to camp, play, hike, train or relax with their
dogs. We do not advertise or market ourselves as a “Family
Campground”, we always were and still are the first and only
dog dedicated campground in the US and that’s what our guests
love about us.
All of our amenities and activities are specifically geared
towards an adult target group. Scheduled events (whether for fun
or sports) as well as functions (potlucks, catered dinners,
quizzes, seminars, training sessions etc.) are directed towards
a mature audience.
Are you offering a
"dog-walking" service for pet owners going on a day-trip?
 |
Yes, we are offering to
take your dog for a "potty walk" for a fee ($10 first
dog / $5.00 each addt'l dog) |
Can all pets visit
"Four Paws Kingdom" or is it only open to dog owners?
 |
Although "Four Paws
Kingdom" is designed for people traveling with dogs, other
pets like cats, ferrets, parakeets, iguanas, rabbits and more
are also welcome. We will however have to limit the use of
facilities to well behaved pets regardless of breed.
|
Yes, we are always looking
forward to host special events, meetings or get-togethers. You can
rent the whole place or just some sites. You can book the
playground, the agility field, the pavilion, the pond or all of the
above, Four Paws Kingdom will always try to meet your specific
needs. Just call or email
us and we help you to make it happen!
