My name is Meik Bartoschek and my wife and I own Four Paws Kingdom ^(TM), the first and only dog dedicated campground in the US.

    http://www.4pawskingdom.com, has been designed with only one purpose in mind: To create a fun outdoor environment that adult humans and their canine companions can enjoy. In 2011 we are starting our eighth season , and last year we had more than 1800 human and almost 1300 canine guests. 90% of our business comes from adult couples, 45 years and older, that are traveling full or part-time with their four-legged fur kids.  60% of those guests live in a 200 Miles radius from Rutherfordton, NC.

Consider these facts: More than 70% of all RV, tent or cabin vacationers travel with pets. Yet, until Four Paws Kingdom opened in 2004, nobody had bothered to cater especially to this unique target group. After three years of intense research, my wife Birgit, a world renowned artist portraying dogs in natural settings, and I have decided to end the frustration with so called “dog friendly” lodging and created a haven for human and canine visitors alike on 30+ acres of scenic farmland in the foothills of the NC mountains. Although we offer a wide variety of dog amenities, demand has especially been high for our Agility Boot Camps and “good boy, good girl” obedience workshops, so we now offer regular classes and activities each month.
