They were GREAT!!! Our cabin, at about $70 was less than Virginia state parks cabins, not including
the state park fee for pets! For $12 apiece we were fed by Michael and Birgit, who are from Hamburg!
Michael is a trained chef and the food was EXCELLENT. Everyone provided their own wine and left the dogs
at home for “Rat Pack Night”. Mike did a pretty cool Dino imitation and Birgit (one of whose silk paintings
we bought for $24) did Liza Minelli, who sat in for Blue Eyes (we learned during the trivia contest).
It was really fun, with a number of leash free zones, wonderful neighbors,
tons of activities and wonderful weather.
I guess our total for the weekend, including gas for the 3.5 hour trip (we took the Subaru), was under $200.
I was just blown away by the energy these two invested in the place. So creative and clean and not expensive.
Their business IS totally thriving, purely by word of mouth. Thanks for the hot tip!!
