The Do's and Don'ts of Happy Camping

The campground cannot be responsible for injury or damage due to wind, water, fire or the negligence of you or others.
Some of these rules were made by our insurance carrier, some by the

Please obey them.
They will be enforced.

 | Four Paws Kingdom has partnered with the NC Department of Agriculture to protect NC forests from the Emerald Ash Borer and other wood destroying pests.
Our forests are are threatened by nonnative insects that can kill large numbers of trees. Three recently introduced insects - emerald ash borer, Asian longhorned beetle, and Sirex woodwasp are wood infesting species that can be transported long distances in firewood. Once transported into new areas, these insects can become
established and kill local trees. We must STOP THE SPREAD of these insects and protect our forests and trees.
North Carolina has joined eight other states - Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin - that have announced voluntary or mandatory restrictions on imported campfire wood. A number of national parks and forests within those states have followed suit, according to the National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service.
In an effort to protect our surrounding forest environment from the Emerald Ash Borer and other wood destroying insects we have adopted the recommendations from the NC State Parks and the NC Campground association
(NCARVC) and we will no longer permit any of our guests to bring their own firewood of any kind. The state of North Carolina recommends no moving of firewood in the State and no outside wood brought into any campgrounds.
We hope that you will support us in our effort to preserve our forests for future generations, be considerate and leave your firewood at home. We will have local firewood available for sale at the office and we'll gladly deliver it to your camp site.
Thank you for your support.

Please buy our wood ($5.00 bundle -
delivered to your campsite) from the store.
All vegetation, living and dead, is for shade, bank stabilization,
erosion control, natural decomposition and natural habitat. With
several thousand camper nights per year, the environment simply
cannot withstand guest collection of wood for fires or for any other
reason.
If a state imposed burn
ban is in effect, the rules described above are overridden
and campfires of any kind are prohibited (above ground BBQ grills and gas fireplaces are OK on all
sites).
All animals must be in your tent or camping unit at
night, or
while you are away from your campsite, shopping or on a day trip.
(dog walking service is provided for a
fee - $10.00 first dog/$5.00 each addt'l dog).
To ensure the health of our fur-kids, all dogs have to be current
on their shots and wear a valid rabies tag.
We have to ask you, to leash your dogs outside of designated
off-leash areas - it's the law.
For the safety of your dog, inside or outside of designated
off-leash areas dogs must be accompanied and supervised at all times.
Please be considerate of others and clean up after your pet.
Pick up bags are provided in specially marked boxes.
Four Paws Kingdom was designed to provide a safe and fun
environment for people and canines. Therefore we do not tolerate any
cruelty towards animals. Guests who engage in acts of cruelty
towards any animal (while staying with us) will be asked to asked to leave the
premises immediately.*
Please keep in mind:
You are alone responsible for the behavior of yourself and your
pet. Any campground guest whose dog(s) create unnecessary
disturbance, engage in unsafe behavior or show signs of aggression
towards other canine or human guests, may at the
discretion of the campground management be banned from the dogs
park(s) or asked to leave the premises*. This rule will especially be
enforced for non - neutered/-spayed dogs. Four Paws Kingdom endorses spay and neuter programs.
* In such case no refund of any fees paid will be made.
Important Disclaimer: as
of December 2009
Insurance regulations prohibit us from accommodating a limited
number of breeds. We apologize for this measure. We know that these breeds are often
part of your family and can be the kindest and friendliest dogs around, but
the insurance industry makes the rules and we have to follow these rules to
obtain liability
insurance and stay in business (after all, we are a one-of-a-kind
niche business).
We apologize to the owners of the following breeds/mixes:
Rottweilers,
Bull Terrier and Miniature Bull Terrier, American Pitbull Terrier, American Staffordshire
Terrier (Amstaff) and Pitbull Mixes.
